Miyatake Sanuki Udon | Residensi Duta Kiara , Kuala Lumpur

Despite its well-established reputation, as evidenced by the busy lunch crowd and the steady influx of customers, I returned to this spot used to be at previously operated in Isetan, 1 Utama, Miyatake Sanuki Udon-1Utama - Bandar Utama not only to support my classmate but also because of the excellent food. It's a delight to be back and catch up with chef Justin Goh, the mastermind behind the delectable even so we called him Kimchi back in college days.
The restaurant has recently reopened at Residensi Duta Kiara, just a short distance from Solaris Mont Kiara. The dining space is roomy, offering ample seating options, including semi-private partitions and counter seats that provide a view of the chefs at work. Named after its specialty, Miyatake focuses on Sanuki Udon, a renowned udon variety from Kagawa prefecture in Japan. These noodles are distinctive for their square shape and flat edges, offering a chewy and smooth texture.

The Udon is freshly made every day using a noodle-making machine located near the entrance.
Orders are placed using tablets

The menu primarily revolves around Udon, available in dry, cold, or served with different broths (clear, spicy, curry, and crème) and assorted toppings (Kitsune, Asari, Tempura, sliced pork/beef). Alongside Udon, there is an array of à la carte dishes, including Sashimi, chicken Karaage, assorted Tempura, salads, Oden, Inari Sushi, Edamame, pickles, and more. Not a fan of Udon? Not to worry; they offer rice dishes such as Ebi Tendon Rice Bowl, Oyako Don, Pork Curry Rice, and others.
Desserts are limited to ice cream only. Udon prices range from RM16 to RM37.00, while rice dishes range from RM25.00 to RM38.00. Beverage choices encompass soft drinks, teas, sodas, beers, Whisky Highball, Sakes, wines, and Soju.

Regarding the food, their Udon stands out with its delightful chewy texture, served with authentic and piping hot Japanese soup. The Tempura is also praiseworthy; having tried it elsewhere, I can vouch for its exceptional taste. Although I miss the unique atmosphere I experienced with my friend, I'm genuinely pleased to witness this place flourishing, especially considering its previous location inside Isetan. The expanded menu is a definite advantage, offering a wider variety than before.

Pricing-wise, I have no complaints; it's reasonable given the quality and taste. The consistency in their offerings always leaves a positive impression, ensuring each visit is delightful.

Parking can be a bit challenging, with street parking being an option, though one must be cautious due to the littered streets. Nevertheless, the culinary journey at Miyatake is worthwhile ~ Bon appétit!
